Welcome to the Delaware Public Archives! One of the oldest state archives programs in the country, Delaware has the newest facility in the nation.  Opened on January 8, 2001, the new building provides a spacious, comfortable setting to carry out research, attend workshops, or surf the net on one of the numerous internet-ready computers available for public use.

The new Archives facility can hold more than 90,000 cubic feet of government records and historical documents. A large, user-friendly research room, easy internet access areas, beautiful surroundings, and helpful and knowledgeable staff, will make your visit to the Archives an enjoyable experience! You are cordially invited to make use of these valuable resources to explore Delaware's rich history and heritage.
