Our exhibit encompasses 12,000 years worth of archaeological history in the State of Delaware. The artifacts date from the last ice age in North America to the 20th century. Artifacts range from "arrowheads" and "spear points," to glass and personal objects used in Delaware during the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.

Many of the items are found due to modern construction projects.  The objects reflect not only the time period and place where they were made and found, but also the personalities, life styles, and even migration and living arrangements of the original owners.

The Delaware Archaeology Museum examines the process of archaeology from the planning stages to the actual recovery of artifacts.  It even includes an in-house, hands-on simulated excavation pit!
